- I'm a philosopher by training if not by temperament. And an analytic philosopher at that (gasp!). I'm Associate Professor of Philosophy at Calvin College, have published a few (academic) books and a fair number of articles in obscure scholarly journals that I and about 12 others in the world have ever read. Lately I've become self-conscious of living in what some describe as postmodern times and my interests have widened considerably to include on-the-ground issues in cultural and church life. My friend and colleague Jamie Smith says I'm a postmodern analytic ecclesiological philosopher. Whether you hear that as a compliment or an insult probably says a lot about you.
